Why this building matters
Wrigleyville grew up around Wrigley Field, the 1914 ballpark that gives the neighborhood its name and its rhythm. Established in 2013 in an older Sheffield Avenue building barely 700 feet from the park, Wrigley Hostel puts budget travelers and baseball fans in the middle of it — a block from the Addison Red Line and surrounded by the bars and music clubs of Clark Street, including the storied Metro. It is a sociable, no-frills base for seeing the North Side affordably.
