Why this building matters
The building opened in 1923 as the Palais Brompton, one of the elegant “apartment hotels” that flourished on the North Side during that decade. Today it is a small, family-run boutique of just 52 rooms, its English-estate exterior intact while its public spaces nod to the Cubs and the surrounding Wrigleyville scene.
What guests are saying
What guests love
- A genuine neighborhood feel on a leafy residential street, away from the downtown crowds.
- A short walk to Wrigley Field, a 15-minute walk to the lakefront, and Lakeview’s restaurants and bars.
- Cozy, individually styled rooms and warm, personal service in a 1923 building.
What to keep in mind
- A small vintage hotel — rooms vary in size
- Lively on Cubs game days; north side, not downtown
Best for Cubs fans and travelers who want a quiet, characterful north-side base with a neighborhood feel.
